Taylor Swift is bringing *The Life of a Showgirl *to big screens — and it's basically a grown-up secret session.
"I hereby invite you to a *dazzling* soirée, *The Official Release Party of a Showgirl*: Oct 3 - Oct 5 only in cinemas!" Swift wrote in social media posts Friday announcing the news. "You'll get to see the exclusive world premiere of the music video for my new single 'The Fate of Ophelia,' along with never before seen behind-the-scenes footage of how we made it, cut by cut explanations of what inspired this music, and the brand new lyric videos from my new album The Life of a Showgirl ❤️🔥"
The content of the "film," which clocks in at 89 minutes, essentially means that the release is operating as a more widely accessible version of the secret sessions the singer used to do for new albums. During those, she would invite groups of fans to her various homes, where they would listen to the new music together and Swift would provide insight on the new songs.**
Swift concluded her Friday post by encouraging fans to dance, much like she did for the release of the Eras Tour film in October 2023, which earned more than $260 million at the global box office, making it the highest-grossing concert film of all time. "Looks like it's time to brush off that Eras Tour outfit or orange cardigan… Tickets are on sale now. Dancing is optional but very much encouraged 💃"

*The Official Release Party of a Showgirl,* of course, coincides with the debut of her recently announced 12th studio album, *The Life of a Showgirl*. Swift previously joined now-fiancé Travis Kelce and his brother Jason's *New Heights* podcast on Aug. 13 to reveal all about the new 12-track work, including song titles, collaborators, and the cover.
Swift also described the sound of album, which she promised will be full of "bangers." Travis also added his two cents, telling viewers, "They're all 12 bangers. It's a lot more upbeat and it's a lot more like fun pop, like excitement. And so I think it's a complete 180 from a lot of the songs on *Tortured Poets* for sure."

As for *Showgirl'*s theme, Swift said, "I would say it's everything that was going on behind the curtain," and her goals for the album are "melodies that were so infectious that you're almost angry at it and lyrics that are just as vivid but crisp and focused and completely intentional."
*The Life of a Showgirl* is available starting at 12 a.m. ET on Oct. 3.
