Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? Season 7 of *The Kelly Clarkson Show, *which premiered today, will feature several brand new segments as well as a whole host of new Kellyokes that see the songstress cover Queen, Maren Morris, and more. **
Jason Halbert, Kelly Clarkson's music director and longtime collaborator, tells ** that the three-time Grammy winner and her band Y'all will be trying their hand at a variety of genres this season, beginning with Clarkson's premiere performance of The Weeknd's 2020 hit, "Blinding Lights." **
"There's one song I'm really excited about called 'Carry It Well' [by] Sam Fischer," he says. "I hadn't heard the song before, but I think it's gonna be a very impactful moment. We have another Whitney [Houston] coming up. [It's] always great to hear Kelly cover Whitney. And I think we're doing Queen for the first time ever. I don't think we've done another Queen song, so that's gonna be fun."

Halbert confirms that Clarkson will soon be channeling her inner Freddie Mercury as she takes on "Another One Bites the Dust" in a forthcoming episode.
"It's been hard to find [songs] that haven't been covered by so many other artists," he says of the legendary rock band's discography. "We either spotlight a new artist or, if we're gonna do a huge hit, we try to make sure that we're adding something to it." **
He also teases that there are "two or three Maren Morris songs" coming down the pipeline as well. "I guess she must have put a new album out," he says. "That's the only thing I can imagine. I haven't heard it yet, I'm seeing these songs come in, so I'm like, 'Kelly's listening to it!'"
Kelly Clarkson breaks down in tears on talk show's season 7 premiere
Kelly Clarkson's absence from her talk show earlier this year was due to ex-husband Brandon Blackstock's illness
In her opening monologue on Monday, Clarkson explained that her goal for the upcoming season is "Finding the light and shining it on people who are really trying to make a difference" in the world around them. "It sounds cheesy, but it's real. It makes you feel good," she added.**
Executive producer Alex Duda also tells EW that they plan to do just that by rolling out two new segments — Life Well Lit and Celebs With Skills — in addition to their regular Good Neighbor segment, which honors folks from all across the country who are bettering their local communities.

"When things are tough, [it's that] Mister Rogers saying: 'You look for the helpers.' And that's what we always try always try to do," she says. "So that's why our premiere this year was just about going back to that and finding the light. And [Clarkson's] always said that since the beginning of the show that that helps her, and I think, hopefully, it helps the viewers, too."**
In addition to helping others, Clarkson will also be learning new skills herself in the aptly-titled new segment Celebs With Skills, which spotlights a celebrity who has a unique talent. *Parks and Rec *alum Nick Offerman will help Clarkson launch the new program later this week by teaching her and several children about the joys of woodworking.

Life Well Lit, meanwhile, will debut on Tuesday's episode, Duda reveals. "It's about people just spreading joy," she says. "We had this woman who came on, she started a retro mall-walking in her in her town. They just dress in '80s clothes and they mall-walk through their local mall and she's trying to get others to do it." **
She also teases some "great names" will be stopping the studio all this week too, in addition to the premiere's guests Margot Robbie and Colin Firth. "We have Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt, Matthew McConaughey, and Julia Roberts," she says. "Just good, big names coming up."
Now, all that's left is to tune in when *The Kelly Clarkson Show *airs weekdays on syndication. Check your local listings.
