Kristi Noem — *South Park* muse and current United States secretary of Homeland Security — has spoken out against country star and former U.S. Navy member Zach Bryan's new song that criticizes the ongoing ICE raids around the nation.

When asked for her reaction to Bryan's new song "Bad News," which features lyrics that criticize both ICE and local police, Noem said in a recent interview that she's "extremely disappointed and disheartened" by the song Bryan teased last week on Instagram.**

"I heard that and listened to a little bit of it," Noem said in a video chat with*The Benny Show*. "I hope he understands how completely disrespectful that song is not just to law enforcement, but to this country, to every single individual that has ever stood up and fought for our freedoms he just compromised it all by putting out a product such as that."

Noem did not reference Bryan's past service in the Navy in her comments, but did speak directly to Bryan as she continued.

"I didn't listen to your music, I'm happy about that today. Today that makes me very happy, that I never once gave you a single penny to enrich your lifestyle if you truly believe what that song stands for," Noem added.

She said that she'd instead "download some Jason Aldean songs or John Rich songs," because, she said, "those guys know what it means to stand up for freedom." Rich criticized Bryan's song on X earlier this week, writing, "Who's ready for the Zach Bryan Dixie Chicks tour?"

Noem doubled down on her earlier sentiment, adding that she's "glad I didn't waste money on Zach."

When asked about law enforcement officers who might accompany Bryan to protect him on tours or at concerts, Noem said that those officers aren't selective.

"They don't pick and choose who they defend when they do their jobs," Noem said. "They will even defend and protect people that don't respect them or stand up for them."

** has reached out to representatives for Bryan for a response to Noem's remarks.

Last week, Bryan teased "Bad News" online, with the song featuring lyrics that highlighted fears about ICE raids.

"Some out-of-town boys been giving us hell, I've got some bad news," Bryan sings in the tune.**

He goes on to call himself and all of his friends "degenerates," and sings that he "heard the cops came" before calling them "cocky motherf---ers" in the song.

Additional lyrics include Bryan singing, "ICE is gonna come stand at your door" and "kids are all scared and alone" — all of which he summarizes as "the fading of the red, white, and blue."
