One easy way to save money on groceries is to switch to store brands. These alternatives to expensive brands can save you 30% or more — serious savings to put toward other groceries. One of the more popular store brands is Great Value. This brand at Walmart offers lots of items beyond just food staples.

"These Great Value items aren't just cheaper alternatives – they're smart financial choices that don't sacrifice quality," said Andrew Lokenauth, money expert from Be Fluent in Finance. "And in this economy, those savings matter more than ever."

"This might sound weird coming from a financial advisor, but the [Great Value] vanilla bean is legitimately better than much more expensive brands — and it's usually $2 to $3 cheaper per container. Perfect for summer gatherings without breaking the bank," Lokenauth said.

Buying Great Value Is the Way To Save

"Based on tracking hundreds of client budgets, switching to Great Value for these basics typically saves $75 to $100 per month for a family of four," Lokenauth explained. "That's some serious cash you could put toward emergency savings or retirement — and trust me, as someone who reviews budgets all day, those little switches add up fast."

Another financial expert who talked to GOBankingRates shared similar stories about clients or themself saving serious money by switching to Great Value products.

"If you swap out just a few items each week, you'll probably save close to $100 by the end of the month," said Taylor Kovar, certified financial planner (CFP) and CEO of 11 Financial. "That's money you can use for something fun with your family or put toward savings instead of pouring it into labels."
