- *9-1-1: Nashville* is the second spinoff of ABC's popular first-responder action-drama.

- The country-inflected spinoff stars Chris O'Donnell, Jessica Capshaw, and Grammy winner LeAnn Rimes.

- The series debuts on Oct. 9 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.

Like a raging inferno, ABC's* 9-1-1* franchise keeps growing.

After launching the mothership in 2018, creators Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear lit a fire in Texas with *9-1-1: Lone Star,* which ran for five seasons between 2020 and 2025. Now, the team is finding inspiration in Music City with a new spinoff, *9-1-1: Nashville.*

"This show has a soapier, kind of *Succession* or *Dynasty* element that the other *9-1-1* shows maybe don't," showrunner Rashad Raisani told **, adding that it's a "true family affair."

He's not kidding. The core cast is anchored by the Hart clan, portrayed by Chris O'Donnell, Jessica Capshaw, and Michael Provost. And then there's Blue Bennings, played by social media star Hunter McVey, whose character also shares blood with the Harts. The family connections spiral out from there.

So, who are the Harts? And what flavors of Nashville do they bring to the long-running franchise? Read on to learn more about the *9-1-1: Nashville* cast, who's playing who, and where you've seen them before.**

Chris O'Donnell was one of Hollywood's go-to young actors in the 1990s, with supporting turns in *Fried Green Tomatoes* (1991) and *School Ties* (1992). Those films paved the way to leading roles in the Oscar-winning *Scent of a Woman* (1992), *The Three Musketeers* (1993), and *Mad Love* (1995).

He's best known, however, for playing Robin in Joel Schumacher's *Batman Forever* (1995) and *Batman & Robin* (1997), as well as his 14-season run on *NCIS: Los Angeles* (2009–2023).

Now, O'Donnell hopes to ignite another franchise as veteran firefighter and one-time rodeo star Don Hart on *9-1-1: Nashville*. Speaking with EW, the actor described Don as "straddling two different worlds a lot of the time."

"He has two different families, really," O'Donnell said. "He's got [Capshaw's] Blythe and his son, and that is the focus of his life. But he's also got the firehouse, and his family there — because that really is a family. And for someone that didn't grow up with a ton of family.... I think probably that's part of what the attraction was for him originally getting into this line of work, and then he married into a large family."**

Jessica Capshaw as Blythe Hart

Jessica Capshaw, the daughter of actress Kate Capshaw and stepdaughter of Steven Spielberg, cut her teeth on *The Practice* (2002–2004) before donning the stethoscope of Dr. Arizona Robbins on *Grey's Anatomy *(2009–2024).

Here, she plays Blythe Hart, Don's wife. Unlike Don, who comes from a working-class background, Blythe was born into an "aristocratic southern family that goes back six generations," per Raisani.

Her relationship with O'Donnell's Don, then, is unconventional among her social circles. Raisani characterized it thusly: "We took some inspiration from the Vanderbilts and said, 'Okay, imagine that there's this child of that family and then this very blue-collar firefighter shows up to put out a fire at their horse stables.' And then they kind of become this, at least in her dad's point of view, star-crossed lovers."

Capshaw clarified to EW that Blythe is "not a firefighter, she's not at the firehouse, she's not in the emergencies." Thus, the actress strives to make the storylines unfolding at the Hart home "really compelling."**

LeAnn Rimes as Dixie Bennings

LeAnn Rimes has been a staple of the country and pop music since the early 1990s, selling more than 48 million records worldwide in addition to taking home two Grammys (and earning seven total nominations).

During that time, she also appeared on several soaps, series, and movies, from *Days of Our Lives* (1998) and *Coyote Ugly* (2000) to *Anger Management* (2013) and *Country Comfort* (2021). She won *The Masked Singer *season 4 in 2020, and also joined *The Voice *season 27 as a "mega mentor."

After a "mind-blowing" audition, the *9-1-1: Nashville* producers cast the music icon as Dixie Bennings, who "represents the grittier side of Nashville," per Raisani.

"LeAnn is our series villain, but she plays her with such grace and dignity," he added. "Even when she's a little trashy, she plays her with so much just poise and she has a real code to her."

Rimes' Dixie is the mother of McVey's Blue, whom she had with O'Donnell's Don before his marriage to Blythe. As we see in the series' trailer, she encourages Blue to "start sinking your hooks" into the Hart family after he joins the firehouse.**

Hunter McVey as Blue Bennings

Hunter McVey is a Tennessee-born entrepreneur and social media influencer with over 550,000 followers on Instagram and nearly 200,000 followers on TikTok. He is making his screen debut on *9-1-1: Nashville*.

McVey plays Blue Bennings, the son of Rimes' Dixie and O'Donnell's Don. A stripper-turned-firefighter, he enters the 113 with murky intentions.

"You see that with Don when Blue finally reaches out to him and says that he wants to connect, and we'll learn more about what the motivations were," O'Donnell told EW.**

Michael Provost as Ryan Hart

After a string of supporting roles, Michael Provost helped lead the Netflix comedy *Insatiable* (2018–2019) and gave a memorable performance in Alexander Payne's Oscar-winning *The Holdovers* (2023). Most recently, he appeared as Eli on HBO Max's *The Sex Lives of College Girls* (2024–2025).

On *9-1-1: Nashville*, Provost plays Ryan Hart, the son of Don and Blythe. As the series begins, he'll also be navigating his uneasy relationship with Blue, the step-brother he never knew he had.**

Hailey Kilgore as Taylor Thompson

Hailey Kilgore received a Tony nomination in 2018 for her performance in the Broadway revival of *Once on This Island*. She went on to lead the Starz drama *Power Book III: Raising Kanan *(2021–present).

Here, she gets to put her golden voice to good use: her Taylor Thompson pulls double duty as both a firefighter and an aspiring songwriter. According to Raisani, her character "represents the songwriting and the music — the heartbeat — of Nashville."**

Juani Feliz as Roxie Alba

Dominican-American actress Juani Feliz has been featured in several projects, including Amazon Prime's *Harlem* (2021–2022), FX's *Fleishman Is in Trouble* (2022), and Alex Garland's acclaimed *Civil War* (2024).

Next up for Feliz is a role in AMC's *The Terror: Devil in Silver*, in which she'll star with Dan Stevens.

Speaking with EW, Raisani said Feliz's Roxie Alba is "a lesbian from New York who came to Nashville due to her past backstory, and she's finding refuge here."**

Kimberly Williams-Paisley as Cammie Raleigh

Kimberly Williams-Paisley, the wife of country superstar Brad Paisley, is best known for playing Dana on eight seasons of ABC's *According to Jim* (2001–2009). But you may also recall her run on the acclaimed musical drama *Nashville* (2012–2013).

She's also the *New York Times* best-selling author of 2016's *Where The Light Gets In: Losing My Mother Only to Find Her Again*, a memoir about her mother's struggle with Alzheimer's disease.

Most recently, she starred opposite Kelsey Grammer in 2023's *Jesus Revolution* and hosted season 3 of *Farmer Wants a Wife* (2025).

Williams-Paisley plays Blythe's sister Cammie Raleigh, a 911 dispatcher. The actress, a Nashville resident, celebrated her casting on Instagram, writing that she was "excited to be working in my own backyard."

Nodding towards her role on the series, her husband joked, "Oh great. Now when I call 911 here it'll be 'oh grow up, you're fine."

Kane Brown as himself

Kane Brown is a popular country singer and songwriter, having topped the Billboard 200 with his 2018 album *Experiment*. He is the recipient of an Academy of Country Music Award, numerous American Music Awards, and several CMT Music Awards.

Brown, who previously appeared on a 2023 episode of *Fire Country*, will feature in *9-1-1: Nashville*'s pilot, which finds a tornado tearing through a country music festival. Will he lend a hand to the first responders? We're thinking it's likely.**
