You can find him in da song.

50 Cent is overjoyed to be referenced on Taylor Swift's new album, *The Life of a Showgirl*. So much so that the rapper born Curtis Jackson took to his Instagram page Friday to celebrate his shout-out in the track "Ruin the Friendship."

"Taylor Swift s‑‑‑ is popping right now, she shout me out, she don't shout you out," he wrote in the post, which tagged Swift and also included an image of her album cover. He added, "THIS IS FOR BIG TIMERS ONLY," and observed, "wait I'm the only shout out on the whole album."**

The 50 Cent name-check comes in the devastating track "Ruin the Friendship," in which Swift reminisces about a high school friendship with a boy and what could have been between them, only to later learn that he died, and now she'll never know.

Here's why fans think Taylor Swift's 'Actually Romantic' shades Charli XCX

In the happier parts of the song, she describes a (very millennial-sounding) prom night: "Shiny wood floors underneath my feet / Disco ball makes everything look cheap / Have fun (mm-mm), it's prom (mm-mm) / Wilted corsage dangles from my wrist / Over his shouldеr, I catch a glimpse / And see (mm-mm) you lookin' at me."

And of course, she sings, "It was not an invitation / But as the 50 Cеnt song played (song played) / Should've kissed you anyway (anyway)."

Despite the rapper's assertion that he's the only shout-out on the whole album, he's not quite right. The song "Elizabeth Taylor" is quite literally referencing Elizabeth Taylor. "Ruin the Friendship" also name-drops Abigail Anderson Berard, Swift's bestie since high school. But we'll let 50 have this one.

He joins a long line of shout-outs in Swift songs. For instance, on her 11th album, *The Tortured Poets Department*, Swift references Dylan Thomas, Patti Smith, Steve Nicks, Clara Bow, Lucy Dacus, Jack Antonoff, and Charlie Puth.

Like 50 Cent, Swift has much to celebrate with her new album, which is her 12th. With *Showgirl*, Swift just shattered a Spotify record for 2025. In less than 11 hours, *Showgirl* became Spotify's most-streamed album in a single day this year, according to the company.**

The 12-track record was breaking other milestones before it was even released. Spotify said *The Life of a Showgirl* was the most pre-saved album the platform's history, with more than 6 million pre-saves before it dropped.
