Fall is right around the corner, and just like that, new "Gilmore Girls" content is thawing.

As the show prepares to celebrate its 25th anniversary, a new documentary titled "Searching For Stars Hollow," named after the fictional town where the mother-daughter duo resides, is in the works.

From Ink of Paper Studios, the film will combine interviews with cast and crew to paint a fuller picture of what went on behind the scenes of the now-beloved, early-aughts drama. The show, which has become a comfort watch for many, premiered in October 2000, and wormed its way into the hearts of viewers as it followed fast-talking single mom Lorelai (Loren Graham) and her bookish daughter Rory (Alexis Bledel).

"Searching" will pull together conversations with stars like Kelly Bishop, who played the Gilmore matriarch Emily Gilmore, and Jared Padalecki, who played Rory's high school sweetheart, Dean. Other stars interviewed include Chad Michael Murray, Keiko Agena, Sally Struthers, Liz Torres and Emily Kuroda. Graham and Bledel are notably absent from the list, as are several other key actors.

That may be because the film was made completely separate from Warner Bros. and the "Gilmore Girls" producers. A release date is not yet set, in part because it appears the movie still lacks complete funding.

"We are well into production, and we're here on Kickstarter asking for your help to finish the film!" the movie's page on Kickstarter, a popular crowdfunding site, reads.

Whether there are other plans to celebrate 25 years of Lorelai and Rory remains to be seen − the series was already revived with a 2016 mini-series, "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life," which saw nearly all of the major cast members return. Regardless, come October, countless fans around the globe will no doubt be gearing up for their annual rewatch.
