<p>For Jessica Jones fans, it has been six long years without their favorite cynical superhero.</p>
<p>Krysten Ritter, who played the titular character in the Netflix show for all three seasons, seemed to share their pain.</p>
<p>The Marvel hit has been off air for six years and Ritter has gone on to star in a number of film and TV hits, but to her fans, she will always be Jessica. The Playlist reported that in a recent interview with the Bingeworthy podcast, Ritter said that she got asked "daily" about a Jessica Jones return.</p>
<p>"People ask me and I'm trying to figure out new ways to be like, 'I don't know. I hope so. We'll see. I'm so excited. I hope so," Ritter continued. "All that's true," she added, only to reveal that she knew more than she was letting on to her fans.</p>
<p>Deadline reported on May 13 that Ritter would be reprising her role of Jessica Jones in the upcoming Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again. It was not until that recent Bingeworthy podcast interview about her upcoming co-star role in Dexter: Resurrections, however, that Ritter let slip that the big surprise for fans was one she had known for almost two years.</p>
<p>"I've also known for so long, and keeping it a secret has been torture," Ritter said in the same podcast. Her return, she said, had been talked about with Marvel in some capacity "for a long time." She admitted to learning how to evade questions about a return, determined to keep the secret for her fans.</p>
<p>Ritter described her return to the character and her first days on set as "celebratory". "It felt crazy," she said, "like no time had passed."</p>
<p>The real hero according to Ritter, though, is Jessica's fans. "I really believe I'm back because the fans have been so vocal about Jessica and feeling so passionate about her. And I am so thrilled to be back in these iconic boots."</p>
