Beloved 'As The World Turns' Soap Star Dead at 91 originally appeared on Parade.

Eileen Fulton, known for her role as Lisa Grimaldi on the soap opera As the World Turns has passed away. She was 91.

The actor passed away on July 14 in Asheville, North Carolina after a period of declining health.

The actress began her daytime career on As The World Turns in 1960, and appeared on the series until it's series finale in 2010.

Fulton also crossed over her character Lisa Hughes to the As the World Turns primetime spin off Our Private World in 1965. The series lasted 38 episodes.

While on the show, her character Lisa Grimaldi over the course of fifty years the character was married eight times. The character is known as one of daytime's most

Fulton retired in 2019, after her last professional role being Katherine Wise on The Life Zone.

Additional credits include playing a receptionist in Nero Wolfe, Janie Daggett in Naked City, and appearing on an episode of Armstrong Circle Theatre.

Her film credits include Girl of the Night,The Signs of the Cross, Tinsel Town, Roses Woes and Joe's, The Drum Beats Twice, and The Life Zone.

The actress was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Daytime Emmy Awards in 2004.

The actress was also a published author. In 1970 she co-authored her first autobiography How My World Turns, which she followed up in 1995 co-authoring her second autobiography As My World Still Turns. She also penned her mystery series Take One for Murder.

Fulton appeared in theater having roles in multiple productions including: Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Many Loves, Any Wednesday, Sabrina Fair, Summer of the Seventeenth Doll, Nite Club Confidential, Plaza Suite, It Had To be You, The Owl and the Pussycat, Goodbye Charlie and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof

She is survived by her brother, Charles Furman McLarty; niece Katherine and their children, Everly Ann Morris and Easton Lane Morris; and sister-in-law Chris Page McLarty.

Funeral arrangements will be handled by Groce Funeral Home, with the Services will being held on Saturday, August 9.
